S. Kendall Bradford
Artist Biography | Resume

Kendall Bradford has a number of inspirations for her most recent collection. She tends to use an array
of different media when approaching diverse issues. Currently, her work has dealt with the cathartic
nature of process and repetition. Bradford uses her knowledge of painting and drawing and builds
upon that knowledge by experimenting with transfers, dying, resin, and embroidery. This enables her
to further develop the dense nature of the subjects at hand.

As a young artist, Bradford spent much of her time abroad. Being a foreigner in a foreign place,
she began to develop a respect for moments where she would meet eyes with complete strangers and
find a shared existence. She represents these passing moments and interactions with people by
creating life size figurative paintings from her memory. These linear representations of human
interaction allude to space yet do not define it.

Bradford received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from Syracuse University. She then
went on to receive her Master’s Degree from New York University. After receiving her Master’s,
she became an Artist in Residence with the Chashama Organization.

Bradford has exhibited in the U.S. and Italy. Her work resides in private collections around the world.
Currently she is living and working in New York City.
